Suicide Prevention Month

September is Suicide Prevention Month. I just wanted to share this video of a Sailor’s suicide survival story.

Learn more about suicide and it’s signs at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. You can also get help at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline website as well.

If you are struggling, please know that you are not alone. There are plenty of people who love you and care about you. There are people who will understand and who are willing to help. It’s crazy to think that it’s been over 11 years since 9/11/01. I remember it just like yesterday, as I’m sure most people do who were old enough to understand something major and awful was going on when it happened. I hope to someday get a chance to visit the Freedom Tower and the memorial in NYC. My mom, Linda, and my sister, Meg, were just there recently. Here’s a picture from their visit:

We will never forget. Our thoughts and prayers are and will always be with those affected by the events of that day.
