Stars and Heroes

I’m sure many of you have heard about and probably watched NBC‘s new reality show, “Stars Earn Stripes.”

I know, you’re probably thinking, “ugh, another reality show?!” but, if you haven’t heard of it, it’s a pretty cool concept. Real life American heroes known as “The Operatives.” They include a retired Master Sergeant from the US Army, a retired USMC Gunnery Sergeant who is now a cop in NYC, a former US Navy SEAL, and a former Green Beret, just to name a few. Pretty cool dudes with hardcore jobs. Paired up with these awesome heroes are celebrities: Laila Ali, Dean Cain, Terry Crews, Nick Lachey, Todd Palin, Picabo Street, Dolvett Quince, and Eve Torres. The stars and their “operative” compete against the other teams in hardcore military inspired challenges. Each celebrity is competing for a charity that supports the men and women who serve in our military and first-responder services. Some of the charities include Wounded Warrior Project, Got Your 6, The Badge of Honor Memorial Foundation, and the USO, just to name a few.

It’s hosted by General Wesley Clark and Samantha Harris. The stars are trained and put in intense, mentally and physically challenging scenarios to raise money for their charity.

It airs Monday nights on NBC from 9 to 10PM ET. Last night was the 2nd episode. So they’re already down to 6 pairs! I’ve only watched the first show so far (so I’m a bit behind), but it’s a pretty cool show. It definitely puts things in a new perspective and gives a little more insight into what these American heroes actually do. And best of all, it supports those who serve our country!

Here’s the info about the show.

You can check out the list of charities the celebs are competing for here!

Another cool thing about the show, is that they made an effort to hire recent vets to be apart of the show’s crew! How cool is that?!

Anyway, you should check it out! It’s nice to see, what would normally seem like frivolous TV, be an awesome reality show that supports those who serve our country!

  1. We would love to be one of the charities featured on this show — wonder how they are chosen?

    • That would be very cool. If they get picked up for a 2nd season, hopefully, you could be one of the charities featured! – Kait
