Deployment Projects

I’m sure I mentioned this before, but I recently discovered the wonders of Pinterest. It’s like a virtual bulletin board. You “pin” things that you like to your boards which you can have many of and  organize them in all different ways.

I am a big crafter and I have a few boards on Pinterest dedicated to the numerous craft projects I found, like the American flag wreath I posted about a little while back. I’ve found and tried a handful of craft projects of Pinterest and after the making the American flag wreath, I got the idea to dedicate a Pinterest board to deployment projects. Not so much crafts for myself during the boyfriend’s next deployment (although there are some), but mostly crafts for me to do to send to him in care packages. I found writing letters and putting care packages together therapeutic during the boyfriend’s first deployment and I find crafts therapeutic as well. These projects will help keep me busy and I’m sure they’ll put smile on his face. Fortunately, I still have a while until he deploys again, but here are some of the project ideas I found if you are looking for things to do while your loved one is deployed.

52 Reasons I Love You…

I think this is a cute idea and it’s very care package friendly!

Embroidered map….

I really like this. My plan is to make this into a card and embroider hearts and a path to and from the appropriate locations.

A cute card…

I want to make cute cards like this to send to him every once in a while. I think this is such a great idea.

An “I am grateful…” note…..

I plan to make my own version of this. It's cute.
